Road Construction Project Launched in Khost’s Second and Third Districts

The Khost Municipality has announced the launch of a new infrastructure project in the city’s second and third districts. The project includes the construction of 1.3 kilometers of road, 2.5 kilometers of drainage canal, and two small bridges. Its aim is to improve urban order and reduce traffic congestion.

Hafiz Abdul Rashid Omari, the mayor of Khost, stated at the project inauguration ceremony that the construction work is expected to be completed within five months. According to him, once operational, the project will help alleviate traffic problems and disorganization in the mentioned areas.

The Khost mayor also emphasized that the municipality is committed to addressing the issues faced by local vendors and residents through implementing various infrastructure projects. He added that ensuring urban order is one of their core responsibilities and that additional plans are currently underway to achieve this goal.

Meanwhile, several local vendors and residents have welcomed the project, saying its implementation could significantly improve the city’s cleanliness and urban management.

According to Khost municipal officials, 30 infrastructure projects with a total budget of 250 million afghanis are set to be implemented in the city by the end of the solar year 1404. An additional 40 large and small projects are planned for the upcoming year.
